XD I'm sure if I'd played it I'd like Mystery Dungeon the best, but I haven't... So Fire/Leaf. one thing I REALLY love about Ruby/Sapphire is the contests, though! >_< none of the other games have that.

I haven't really had a chance to play Ruby/Sapphire that much -- so I'm way more favored to Gold. :3
I also really enjoyed Pokemon Snap. :D

XD In order of likey ness for me it's Fire/Leaf, then Gold/Silver/Crystal.. then Ruby/Sapphire. Gold/Silver ftw. I wonder if they're gonna make a "water blue" version? o-o

:B Yeah.. since Ghastly and Haunter are both part Ghost AND Part Poison, their poison half makes them weak.. I still love Haunter though. I forgot, but I think a Ghost type alone is strong against Psychic, right? Ghost attacks like... totally kill Psychic dudes, right? XD;

Mm, yea -- I do believe so. But since Haunter and Ghastly are poison, yes, psychic types kick their ass because of their poison attributes. Psychic pokemon are the gods in Red/Blue. :\ At least until Dark types come around. Yay for Dark. >:3 Dragons are really simple to beat too. Just use an ice attack.

but what makes it wonderful.. is that butterfree is flying (and I think bug.. but it might be grass) so it's not effected by things psychic pokemon are weak too...... (: but yet it's still mostly psychic. HEEHEE.
MY BUTTERFREE WINS EVERYTHING. It's at level 42 (:

XD But the main reason why Dragons rock so much is that they're resistance in all the prime elements. :B

XD and yeah, it's usually REALLY helpful when you can get a pokemon to learn different types other than it's own. Though, if you want to get technical... When a pokemon uses a move of a type that's not it's own, the attack's power is mutiplied by 1. So it's the normal power, right? But when a pokemon (Let's say Pikachu) uses a type of it's own (Like thunderbolt), the attack's power is mutiplied by 1.5. :) So it's a good idea to use the right moves with your pokemon to pack a punch! D< Hurr I learned that from Pokemon Stadium 2... O_O; the classroom part of the game is REALLY indepth, even on the easy stuff. :) I especially thought that information was really good to know. >_< The stuff about Pikachu and Thunderbolt went on, like... If pikachu uses thunderbolt (1.5) against a Gyarados (Who's types are Flying and water, and I THINK that's x2 the attack power per weakness... *Julie might know*) and let's say you hit a weakspot... (another x2).. (Thunderbolt) 95 attack power x1.5 x2 x2 x2 = 1140 ATTACK POWER. :) 12 times the regular damage. it really adds up.. XD ok I'm gonna shut up now. XD

(: Yea .. it would be double-damage against Gyarados because he's BOTH water/flying. Ahah. And don't forget to add 1.1x incase Pikachu is holding a Magnet. (X Stupid Gyarados. He fails hard against electric.
I do believe the same is for Dragon/Flying. (: Both weak against ice.
That's also why I love Swampert. (: Since he's water/ground .. electric doesn't hurt him. ;D You'd have to use like .. grass. :|
And ahah Zen. I kicked Lance's ASS with my Shining Gyarados. D: Just use Blizzard/Ice Beam when you're five/six levels higher than all his dragons .. and ahah. (: Insta-win.
Though it's good to have a well-rounded team, I don't like to have anything except fire, electric, and dark if I can help it. I'll most likely have a flying type however, to help against fighting types (since er, electric, normal, and dark are all weak against fighting), and to .. obviously, Fly. I also try to have a normal type, just so they can learn weird attacks or have HMs. I don't really care for water/ice, but it's good to have one for surf, or those dragons. (: Psychic is also good in some situations.
My team is basically Typhlosion, Ampharos, Furret, Umbreon, Pidgeot, and Espeon. Of course, Espeon is interchangeable for other pokemon .. the first four are definates. :\ I prefer Pidgeot out of all the flying types .. I mean .. I don't really like birds, so .. <_<; It's kinda hard to have a flying type you like. Y'know? :|
And I generally don't like dual-type pokemon either. I prefer one type, with powerful, one-hit-kill moves. I'm a power freak, I don't do strategy. My Typhlosion'll know Thunder Punch, Earthquake, Sunny Day, and Fire Blast. :\ Or instead of Earthquake, Flamethrower. Sunny Day is nice because it boosts his fire attacks .. thus making Fire Blast insta-kill.
My Umbreon also knows Psychic, to help battle against the Fighting types. Moonlight, Psychic, Faint Attack, and Return (since the more an Eevee loves you, it'll evolve into Umbreon -- thus making Return QUITE a powerful attack).
I also like Quick Attack. A nice save-move if you're on the verge of losing and you've almost got them. My Furret knows Surf, Slash, Thunder Punch, and Quick Attack.
Pidgeot .. Wing Attack, Fly, Quick Attack, and maybe Steel Wing.
Ampharos .. Rain Dance, Zap Cannon, Thunderbolt, and . . something else. D: Probably Return. Rain Dance + Zap Cannon = GODLY. Rain Dance causes all electric moves to ALWAYS hit, and I think it powers them up as well .. thus making Zap Cannon insta-kill. (:
And .. Umbreon .. Morning Sun, Psychic, Return, and Quick Attack. Not very special.
I also like to give my pokemon items that will power-up their attacks .. like Charcoal, Black Glasses, Quick Claw, Sharp Beak, Magnet, and Silk Scarf.
.. and now you know my strategies .. :|

lolz I have no strategies... when I start losing I'm like "MOONPIE! USE DREAM EATER D:"
XDDDDD
): my moonpie wins all. It's like the highest level pokemon I have now. haha.
duuuuuur what does return do anyway? it sounds like a gay attack so I never wanna use it.

Return is a normal-type attack that's power is based on how much your pokemon loves you, which is why I obviously choose it for my Eevee love-evolutions. They have to love you in order to evolve into Umbreon/Espeon -- so that makes Return quite a powerful attack. (:

Okay.
Say you taught Return to ... a pokemon you just caught. Since it doesn't like you at all yet, it's not going to "return" those feelings and attack the other pokemon with love for you ..
But if you taught it to Moonpie, .. Moonpie really loves you, so it'd 'return' those feelings and fight as hard as it could for you, thus making the attack more powerful.
The attack power is based on your pokemon's love for it's trainer. D: *doesn't know how to say it any simpler*
